No. 1 seed Licking and No. 2 seed Liberty both advanced to Friday’s Class 3 District 10 championship game with wins on Wednesday.
Licking opened the semifinal round with a low-scoring 37-28 win over Seymour. The two teams were tied at 10 after the first quarter before Licking pulled away in the second quarter taking a 21-15 lead at the half. The third quarter was all about the defense with Licking winning the frame 4-2 on the way to the 37-28 win.
Allie Hock led all scorers with 19 for Licking. Hannah Medlock was also in double figures for Licking with 11 points. Addison Ridenour led Seymour with 12 points.
Like the first semifinal, the game between Liberty and Willow Springs was close through the first quarter with Liberty holding onto a 15-14 lead after one quarter. The Eagles pulled away in the second quarter with a 16-7 advantage in the second quarter to carry a 31-21 lead into the break.
Reagan Wells scored 26 points to lead Liberty with Hadley Chowning also scoring in double figures with 15 points. Chloe Jones led all scorers with 29 for Willow Springs.
Licking and Liberty will play for the Class 3 District 10 title at 6 pm on Friday in Seymour. The Wildcats won the regular season matchup over Liberty by a score of 50-43.
