The Chadwick girls had faced South Iron twice in the playoffs since 2021 entering the Class 1 District 2 championship game on Friday night. South Iron ended Chadwickâs season in both of those instances in 2021 and 2022.
The 2023 game proved to be a different story with Chadwick coming out on top 51-41 to win the programâs fourth consecutive district championship.
The Cardinals jumped out early to take a 14-7 lead. South Iron battled back with a 15-11 advantage in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 25-22 at the half.

Chadwick extended the lead to five entering the fourth quarter before putting the game away with a 15-10 run in the fourth quarter.
Raeleigh Little led Chadwick and all scorers with 22 points. Kerrigan Guerin was also in double figures with 15 points in the win.
Anna Parker paced South Iron with 19 points.
Chadwick, ranked No. 7 in Class 1, advances to face No. 2 Delta in the sectional round on Monday in Chadwick.
