Chadwick entered the district title game against Couch as the No. 3 seed, but still the favorite against the No. 4 seed Couch Indians.
The Cardinals played like the favorite, and the No. 4 ranked team in Class 1, in a 57-22 win over Couch to claim the program’s fourth consecutive district title.
Chadwick jumped out to a 16-5 lead after the first quarter and 29-17 lead at the half. The Cardinal defense iced the game by allowing just five second-half points.

Grady Preston led Chadwick and all scorers with 18 points. Clayton Garrison had 16 points while Creek Guerin scored 11 in the win. Couch got all but seven of its points from Jobe Sturgeon who scored 15.
Up next for Chadwick will be a home game with three-time defending state champions South Iron. The Panthers are ranked No. 1 in Class 1 and currently have a 27-1 record.
The Cardinals will host the Panthers on Tuesday night in the Class 1 sectional round.
