El Dorado Springs used a balanced attack on the way to a 53-40 win over Pembroke Hill in the Class 3 state sectional round on Monday.
Pembroke Hill jumped out to a 13-11 lead after one quarter.
The Lady Bulldogs went to work in the middle two frames with a 27-14 advantage in the second and third quarters to carry a 38-27 lead into the final quarter. That cushion was enough to hold off fourth-quarter charge from Pembroke Hill to take the 53-40 win.
Eight different Lady Bulldogs scored in the win led by Neely Schaaf’s 14 points.
Pembroke Hill was led by 22 points from Camille Cranshaw.
El Dorado Springs (26-3) advances to face Lathrop (27-0) in the state quarterfinal round at Lathrop on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs were ranked No. 1 in Class 3 in the final state rankings while Lathrop was ranked No. 4.
