Hartville was able to hold off Eugene down the stretch to clinch a spot in the Class 2 state quarterfinal round with a 61-58 win.
The game was tight throughout with Hartville leading by two after one quarter and one after each of the second and third quarters. Class 3 No. 2 Hartville and Class 3 No. 3 Eugene matched each other through the entire second half each scoring 35 points apiece.

The Eagles used a balanced attack in the game. Mason Cogdill (15 points), Jackson Ward (14 points), Jalon Cryer (12 points) and Boone Garrison (10 points) all scored in double figures for Hartville.
Hartville (26-2) will travel to face College Heights (19-10) on Saturday in the Class 3 state quarterfinals.
