Logan-Rogersville girls basketball has been building for the last few years, and the patience paid off in the form of a district title on Friday night. The Lady Wildcats beat host Mountain Grove 58-36 to win the program’s first district title since 2019.
“I think it says a lot. We started three years ago (with) eight wins (and then) 14 last year and lost to a good Ava team here (in the district title game),” Lorgan-Rogersville head coach Cory Watts said. “This year (we have) 21 wins and a district title. Our JV won 21 games. I feel really good about our program. Our girls are buying in, and they are great players and great kids.”
Rogersville set the tone early by holding Mountain Grove scoreless in the first quarter while scoring 10.
“Our defense was working really well. We were working really hard, and we saw each other on the floor, which is the best thing that can happen,” Rogersville senior Chayla Perry said.
