It will be an all-SPS final in Class 6 District 5 on Tuesday after Central and Kickapoo defended their top two seeds to advance.
Central beat Glendale 80-62 in the first semifinal. It was the fourth win over Glendale for the Bulldogs. A 28-13 first-quarter advantage proved to be the difference in the game, as the two teams played three points through the final three quarters.
Tyrique Brooks led all scorers with 30 points. Devin Sanford had 15 points, all came via the 3-pointer. Central hit 10 3-pointers in the game as a team.
Glendale was led by Ta’Veaion Washington with 24 points.
In the second semifinal, Kickapoo pulled away from Nixa in the second half for a 55-44 win. Kickapoo took a 12-7 lead after one quarter before Nixa tied it at 23 going into the break. The Chiefs carried a four-point lead into the fourth quarter and outscored Nixa by seven in the quarter to secure the 11-point win.
Jackson Shorter (16 points) and Shaun Campbell (15 points) led Kickapoo.
Central (22-6) and Kickapoo (25-3) will face off in the Class 6 District 5 championship game at 6 pm on Tuesday at Glendale. Central won the regular season matchup 60-49 on Jan. 30.
