SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury Lady Panthers forward Reese Schaaf was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time this season following her performances last week against Upper Iowa and Truman State.
In the two games the Lady Panthers played last week, Schaaf averaged 21.5 points, and 17 rebounds, as well as shooting 60 percent from the field and going 13 for 14 from the charity stripe. Schaaf set Drury’s single-game record in rebounds with 24, surpassing Melanie Oliver’s previous record of 22 from 2006 in the Lady Panthers 79-62 win over Upper Iowa last Thursday. Then, in a 93-68 victory over Truman State in the regular season finale, Schaaf set a career high in points, scoring 30 against the Bulldogs while grabbing 10 rebounds. She posted her 16th and 17th double-doubles of the season in the final two regular season games.
She has been GLVC Player of the Week four times this season. The sophomore of El Dorado Springs, Missouri previously won the honor on January 15th, January 29th, and February 5th.
Drury finished the season with a record of 23-5 overall and 18-4 in conference. The Lady Panthers earned the #3 seed in the GLVC Tournamen,t where they will face Rockhurst in the quarterfinals on Friday at 2:15 pm in St. Charles, Missouri.
