Longtime West Plains girls basketball coach Scott Womack is retiring. He announced the news in an email to KY3 Sports Director Mark Spillane.
Womack coached at West Plains for 33 years with the Lady Zizzers winning a state title in 2022.
“When I started my career I never dreamed I would be coaching for 33 years, but my goal from the beginning was to make the Lady Zizzers basketball team a respected program,” said Coach Womack.
Womack was a 12-time All-Conference Coach of the Year, an 8-time All-District Coach of the Year, a 3-time All-State Coach of the Year and Missouri Coach of the Year by the National High School Basketball Coaches Association.
