Nixa sophomore Jackson Cantwell is now the No. 1 high school shot put thrower in the nation after throwing a massive 72’3 3/4 throw at the Licklider Relays in Jefferson City on Saturday.
The throw came on the his final attempt of the meet.

The second-best throw in the nation this season according to MileSplit is 69’2 3/4. The throw also broke Cantwell’s own all-time Missouri record, which he set a week ago on Friday (Apr. 5) at the Pittsburg State Meet.
