Isaiah Davis, a 2020 graduate of Joplin High School, was selected by the New York Jets in the fifth round (173rd overall) of the NFL Draft.

Davis played is college football at South Dakota State. He led all of the FCS in rushing in 2023 with 1,578 yards on 236 carries with 18 touchdowns. For his career, Davis had 4,548 yards on 676 carries with 50 total touchdowns. He averaged 6.7 yards per attempt in college. South Dakota State won back-to-back national titles in Davis’ junior and senior years. He carried the ball 16 times for 90 yards and a touchdown in this season’s national championship win over Montana.
In high school, Davis was named Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior after he had 253 carries for 2,283 yards and 45 touchdowns. He helped lead Joplin to a state runner-up finish in Class 6. For his high school career, Davis rushed for 4,354 yards and 83 touchdowns.
