Cole Camp football will be looking for new players to step up this season with just two starters on each side of the ball returning from last season’s three-win team.

Grant Rodriguez will see a bigger role this season at quarterback.

“Grant Rodriguez was a tremendous player last year, but now it’s time to carry the load,” Cole Camp head coach Kevin Shearer said.

Rodriguez carried the ball 118 times for 641 yards and six touchdowns last season. He also returns to the secondary after posting a 98-tackle season in 2023.

He will hand the ball off to a mixture of Kolton Phillips, Colton Dieckman, Teagan Sharp, Clayton Archambault and Lucas Todd.

Conner Petersen and Jason Clancy will be at tight end. Teagan Sharp and Blake Abey will be wide receivers.

Colton Thompson, Garrett Elliott, Jayden Begshaw, Jason Clancy, Shaun Hawkins and Evan Corpening will be on the offensive line. Thompson, Begshaw and Elliott will also play on the defensive line with Ty Loganbill, Conner Petersen and Christian Draper.

Defensively, Rodriguez will be joined in the secondary by Phillips, Dieckman, Abey and Kaiden Alvarado.

Archambault, Clancy and Hawkins will be at inside linebacker. The outside linebackers will be Sharp, Todd and Jentzen Crider.

Cole Camp will travel to Versailles for a jamboree on Aug. 23 before opening the regular season on Aug. 30 at Salisbury.
