Jasper football will look to bounce back from a winless season with four offensive and six defensive starters returning.
Look for Carson Lehman and Colt Clements to get snaps at quarterback.
They will hand off to a combination of Kolby Duncan and Jonathan Baker with whichever player who isn’t playing quarterback also taking carries.
Waylon Ritchhart, Triston Richardson, Clayton Anderson, Nolan Connor, William Ritchhart and Gaige Mitchell are all players to watch at receiver and tight end.
Anderson, Brady Sisseck, Jamie Lawless, Luke Beard, William Ritchhart, Gaige Mitchell, Conner, Tanner Golden, Hunter Harris, Keilin Greene and Westin Harris are in the mix on the offensive line.
The offensive line will be the strength with its experience according to head coach Mark McFarland.
Defensively, look for many of the same names on the defensive line as the offensive line with Anderson, Lawless, Beard, Sisseck, Mitchell, Golden, Greene and Harris.
The second level will feature a combination of Duncan, Lehman, Connor, Clements, Nick Williams and Haiden Warner.
Look for Baker, Waylon Ritchhart, William Ritchhart, Austyn Moss and Richardson in the secondary.
The defensive line and linebacking corps will be the strength of the defense according to McFarland.
McFarland wants for his team to show “continued hard work toward success, never quit, be very physically aggressive in all phases. Team above self.”
Jasper will travel to Greenfield for a jamboree on Aug. 23 against Liberal, Lockwood and the host Wildcats.
Jasper opens the regular season on Aug. 30 at home against Osceola.
