Experience will be a strength for Parkview volleyball entering the 2024 season.

“Our biggest strength is that we have mostly returners on varsity,” Parkview head coach Amber Doolittle said. “The players now know the speed of a varsity game, and we know what we need to do. Players were dedicated in off-season and wanted to learn and improve. We are excited about this season and want to have fun and play as a team.”

Doolittle identified Annika Giles (senior), Sara Tubbs (junior) and Dede Dailey (junior) as team leaders.

Doolittle on Giles: “Annika Giles will play a major role for the team this year as an outside. She has played all four years at Parkview and has been on varsity for the last three years. She was very dedicated this summer coming to workouts, and we have seen a major improvement with her hitting and passing. I’m really excited to see her success on and off the court this year.”

Doolittle on Tubbs: “Sara Tubbs will be our libero this year. This will be her second year on varsity. She has improved with her lateral movement and is able to get to balls faster than she did before. Sara continues to push herself and teammates. She is a competitive player who wants to win, and her passion has spread throughout the team.”

Doolittle on Dailey: “Dede Dailey will be MH/MB for us this year. She started out on JV last year but eventually moved up during season and played mostly varsity. We love watching Dede block. She has improved on closing to the block and starting to get more touches on the ball.”

Kyra Cannon will be on varsity full-time this season.

“This will be Kyra Cannon’s first full year on varsity as a setter,” Doolittle said. “Last season as a freshman, Kyra started off on the freshman team then played JV and finished on varsity. She is still learning the game, but she is a quick learner. She is quick and has an amazing vertical. She is little but can jump out the gym. She connects with our hitters and it’s beautiful to watch.”

Parkview opens the regular season on Sept. 3 at Hollister.
