ST. LOUIS — Missouri State quarterback Jacob Clark (Sr., Rockwall, Texas) has been named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in this week’s victory over No. 16-ranked Illinois State.

This week’s Valley award is Clark’s fourth career Valley weekly honor and third of the season — all coming in the span of four games.

Clark led the Bears to their fourth straight victory Saturday with the third-highest passing total of his career. He completed 24-of-31 passes for 343 yards and three touchdowns in the win, which marked MSU’s first road victory against a ranked foe since 2021.

He engineered MSU scores in five of the team’s first seven drives of the afternoon in Normal. The Bears led 17-0 after the opening quarter; 24-0 at the half; and 31-0 midway through the third quarter. Clark completed eight straight passes in the second half before giving way to backup Brock Bagozzi in the fourth quarter.

Clark was also announced Monday as an honorable mention pick for Stats Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week.

Also recognized by the MVFC this week are: LB Gary Bryant III of South Dakota (Defensive Player of the Week); QB Elijah Owens of Indiana State (Newcomer of the Week); and RB/KR Angel Johnson of South Dakota State (Special Teams Player of the Week).

The red-hot Bears return to Springfield this Saturday for a homecoming showdown against Indiana State (2 p.m.) at Robert W. Plaster Stadium.

Tickets for the Indiana State game are available at MissouriStateBears.com or through the Missouri State box office at Great Southern Bank Arena, (417) 836-7678, during regular office hours. The game-day box office at Plaster opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
