Lincoln boys basketball is looking for a bounce-back season after finishing 7-18 last season, which snapped a streak of nine straight years of finishing above .500.
“We should be a strong defensive team with our athleticism,” Lincoln head coach Tyler Burke said. “We need to get more consistent guard play and shoot the ball better than we did last year.”
Beck Eckhoff (junior center), Riley Sanders (junior forward), Camden Everhart (senior forward) and Chase Young (senior guard) return for Lincoln.
Eckhoff averaged 9.4 points and 8.3 rebounds as a sophomore. Sanders led the team in scoring a 9.9 points per game to go with 3.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Everhart contributed 5.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Young had 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Chance Koll (sophomore guard) and Xander Cole (junior guard) will be newcomers.
Lincoln opens the season Dec. 2-7 at the Warsaw Tournament.
“We would like to be one of the top teams in the Kaysinger Conference,” Burke said. “We think we have the talent to do that.”
