Plato boys basketball will have one of the top scorers in the Frisco League returning this season in senior guard/forward Drew Woodruff. Woodruff averaged 20.8 points per game last season. He also led the team with 230 total rebounds.
“Drew averaged a little over 20 points per game last year so we will be expecting good things from him,” Plato head coach Shannon Crain said. “He may also have to be our point guard this season.”
Fellow senior Tanner Atterberry averaged 8 points per game to go with 200 total rebounds last season.
“Tanner was one of our leading rebounders last seasons as well as our top three-point field goal percentage,” Crain said. “He averaged 8 points per game and will be expected to average in double figures this upcoming season.”
Cole Chastain rounds out the returning varsity players. He averaged 3.4 points per game with 82 rebounds.
“Cole was our best defender last year and will have to be a top rebounder this year,” Crain said.
The rest of the varsity rotation will feature many underclassmen.
“We will have an onslaught of underclassmen,” Crain said. “We will have to wait and see who can contribute the most.”
Plato opens the season on Nov. 23 at the Bunker Shootout against Bunker.
