Weaubleau girls basketball will be a young team coming off a 16-9 season.
“We are a fairly young group with only one senior,” Weaubleau head coach Sue Ann Ginnings said. “(We want to gain) game experience, handling the pressure, and get better every time we step on the floor.”
Sophia Weaver (junior guard), Masyn Ashlock (sophomore guard) and Juli Hensley (senior forward) are the returning players.
Weaver led that group in scoring at 8.1 points per game with Ashlock just behind her at 7 points per game.
Natalie Gannaway (junior forward), Saylor Tucker (sophomore guard), Kylie Richards (junior guard), Malaya Carter (freshman forward), Annabelle Reaves (freshman forward), Mara Hilliard (sophomore guard) and Makenna Munro (freshman forward) are newcomers to watch.
Weaubleau opens the season Dec. 2-7 at the Warsaw Tournament.
“I want us to be competitors and understand that we aren’t going to win every game we just have to compete in every game,” Ginnings said.
