Diamond wrestling will have a small roster this season after graduation took nine and a couple moved away. Currently, nine wrestlers are listed on the roster.
Head coach Ryan Clement expects Brayden Clement and James LaFever to have good seasons.
“Brayden is driven this year he worked hard in off-season,” Coach Clement said. “He is a three-time state qualifier and we expect to be on the podium this year. James LaFever is an all-gas wrestler and has a full tank he has grown a ton in his skillset. He doesn’t seem to get tired and never quits. He is another one we expect to medal this year. Brayden will wrestle 215 and James will be 150.”
Freshman Aaden Demery will wrestle at 106 after a successful youth career. Cayle Addington (132), Lusi Castro (144), Johnathan Castro (165), Mason Bradford (157) and Andy Torres (138) will also be factors.
Diamond opens the season on Dec. 4 with a quad at Sherwood.
