Skyline girls dominant in Warsaw Tournament championship game

The defending Class 2 state champion Skyline Lady Tigers got off to a strong start to the season by winning the Warsaw Tournament. Skyline won its opening game over Lincoln 72-18. The Lady Tigers followed that with a 62-17 win over Leeton in the semifinal round. In the championship game, Skyline beat host Warsaw 75-12.

The first quarter was enough for Skyline in the championship game, as the Lady Tigers jumped out to a 26-2 lead after the first eight minutes. The lead grew to 43-6 at the half.

Ashlyn Garrett led all scorers with 20 for Skyline. Kenzi Cheek (13), Sage Redd (12) and Shelby Redd (11) all also scored in double figures for Skyline.
