Millennium (AZ) came out on fire in the first half and continued that trend through the second half in a 74-43 win over Springfield Central in the first consolation semifinal on the day.
The Tigers took a 35-17 lead at the break. In the third quarter, Millennium went for 30 points to Central’s 17.
Cameon Holmes (UNC, Michigan, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, BYU, TCU, USC, Stanford, Washington and Tennessee offers) led the scoring attack with 22 points for Millennium. He also had a game-high eight rebounds.
Adrian Higuera and Quincy Everson each had 16 points in the win. Higuera added in six assists. Utah State commit Kingston Tosi also scored in double figures with 15 points.
The Tigers shot 62% from the field in the game and dominated in the paint with a 38-8 scoring advantage down low. Millennium also out-rebounded Central 32-21.
Central was led by 19 points from Keion Epps.
Millennium advances to face the winner of Parkview and Milton in the consolation final at 4 pm on Saturday. Central will face the loser of that game in the seventh place game at 2:30.
