Bolivar hires Robert Clardy as new head football coach

RELEASE – Bolivar, MO — The Bolivar School District is thrilled to announce the appointment of Robert Clardy as the new Head Football Coach of the Liberators. With a wealth of experience spanning nearly two decades with the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats football coaching staff, Coach Clardy brings a proven track record of success and leadership across town to Bolivar High School.

Coach Clardy, the all-time winningest coach in Bearcats football history, will begin his leadership of the Liberator football program for the 2025 football season. He will teach weight training and advanced weight training at Bolivar High School.

“I am extremely excited about this opportunity to lead the Liberator football program in a community that my family and I call home,” said Coach Clardy. “Bolivar is a great school district with a rich tradition in athletics and a storied past of excellence on and off the field. I can’t wait to get to work!”

Bolivar High School Activities Director Tim Pezzetti expressed his excitement about Clardy joining the Liberators. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Coach Clardy to the Bolivar School District. His experience, leadership, and ability to develop student-athletes on and off the field make him a perfect fit for our program. His success at SBU speaks for itself, and we know he will bring that same passion and excellence to Bolivar football.”

Coach Clardy is a 2008 graduate of Southwest Baptist University, where he led the Bearcat football team as their quarterback. He is married to his wife Krysten, and they have three children in the Bolivar School district: Addyson, Brooklynn, and Lawson.
