It will be an all-Polk County League final in the Class 1 District 8 title game on Friday.
No. 1 seed Halfway and No. 2 Wheatland will meet for the third time this season.
Halfway overcame a slow start to beat Stoutland 78-62. Stoutland took an 18-15 lead after one quarter. The Cardinals got it going in the second quarter with a 20-12 advantage to take a 35-30 lead into the break. The two teams matched each other in the third quarter at 21-21. The Cardinals put the game away with a 22-11 advantage in the fourth quarter.
Zach Laney led Halfway and all scorers with 21 points. Maddox McCarthy and Shane Gallivan were just behind Laney with 19 points each.
Stoutland scored 18 points to lead Stoutland.
Wheatland had the advantage in every quarter on the way to a 61-43 win over Hermitage. Andrew Murphy scored 19 points to lead Wheatland. Tucker Shaddox (12 points) and Nathan Sawyer (10 points) also scored in double figures.
Cash Turner led Hermitage with 14 points.
Halfway and Wheatland will play for the Class 1 District 8 championship at 5:30 pm on Friday. Wheatland won the first meeting on Dec. 7 45-40. Halfway won the second matchup 69-38 on Feb. 4.
