No. 1 Miller and No. 2 Ash Grove advanced to the Class 2 District 12 championship game on Saturday.
Miller handed Jasper just its third loss of the season in a 65-56 win. Loghann Leivan scored 22 points to lead the Lady Cardianls with Ashlynn Helton just behind her at 18 points. Rachel Nunez scored 11 in the win.
Crystal Smith closed out her basketball career at Jasper with a game-high 24 points. Shiloh Storm added in 17 points in the loss.
Ash Grove and New Heights were locked in a tight game until the fourth quarter when the host Lady Pirates outscored New Heights 24-11 to pull away for a 63-43 win. Cora Duit led all scorers with 18 points for Ash Grove with teammate Bristol Lathrop just behind her with 17 points. Millison Sapp added in 14 points in the win.
Ava Lett led New Heights with 10 points.
Miller will be looking for a seventh consecutive district title at 6 pm on Saturday in the Class 2 District 12 championship game while Ash Grove is aiming for its first district title since 2021.
