Skyline displayed its dominance as the No. 1 seed while No. 3 seed Marion C. Early upset No. 2 Osceola in the Class 2 District 13 semifinals on Thursday.
Skyline exploded for 35 points in the first quarter against Pleasant Hope on the way to an 85-32 win. The Lady Tigers had 11 different players score led by Ashlen Garrett’s 19 points. Shelby Redd (13 points) and Kenzi Cheek (11 points) also scored in double figures.
Lexi Perryman scored 12 points to lead Pleasant Hope.
Marion C. Early took an early 14-8 lead on Osceola and held the Indians at arm’s length for the rest of the game on the way to a 58-50 upset win over the No. 2 seed. Kinley Reed scored a game-high 20 points for Marion C. Early. Ireland Foster (13 points) and Lilly Thompson (10 points) also scored in double figures.
Laney Uchtman scored 14 points to lead Osceola.
The two teams will meet in the Class 2 District 13 title game for the second straight year at 2 pm on Saturday in Urbana.
