COLUMBIA — Nixa’s Reed Wilson and Neosho’s Chase Kivett each earned a runner-up finish at the Class 4 State Wrestling Tournament Saturday.
Reed (37-9) dropped a 4-0 decision in the 150-pound title tilt to Colby Gray (51-5), of Fort Osage.
Reed, a sophomore, gave Gray, a senior, all due props.
“He has heavy hands. He has good movement and knows how to wrestle,” Reed said. “To be a great wrestler, you’ve got to put two and two together and I wasn’t able to do that.”
Kivett lost by technical fall 17-1 to two-time state champion Peyton Westpfahl, of Liberty, in the 190 final.
