Jessa Joiner capped one of the most dominant careers in state history by winning her third state championship. She took the 115 title by technical fall 15-0 over Alyssa Salemie, of Branson.
Joiner also won a state title at 115 as a junior and at 110 as a sophomore. She was third at 110 as a freshman.
She finishes with a 185-4 career record. In her 12 state matches, all but two ended by fall or tech Fall. All four of her matches at state this year were by tech fall.

Joiner (44-1) was glad to face Salemie (40-4), a freshman. They also met at districts, with Joiner winning 17-2.
“When I wrestled her at districts, that was a good match and I hadn’t had a good match in a long time so I’m glad I got to wrestle her in my last match,” Joiner said. “With her, I knew it was going to be a really good match. I think she’s going to do really well, if she keeps practicing. She was tough and fought me hard.”
Up next for Joiner is pursuing a degree in animal science at Mizzou next year and eventually a career as a wildlife biologist.
“Hopefully I can work at Yellowstone one day,” she said.
