The Chadwick girls basketball team is heading to the Class 1 state quarterfinals after producing a defensive masterpiece in a 60-34 win over Delta on Tuesday.
Delta came in averaging 72.2 points per game including back-to-back outputs of 100 and 79 points in two district tournament wins.
Chadwick set the tone early holding Delta, a team that averages 18 points per quarter, to just seven in the first period. The Lady Cardinals did even better in the third period holding Delta to just five points.
Offensively, Chadwick was consistent throughout with between 13 and 16 points in each quarter. Rae Little scored 21 points with Emily Landry at 16 and Macy Landry at 15.
Chadwick (25-4) advances to the state quarterfinal round where the Lady Cardinals will host Lockwood (18-10). Lockwood beat Hurley 56-35 on Tuesday.
