Host Webb City started off the semifinal round of the Class 5 District 6 tournament with an upset of No. 1 seed Central 68-61.
The game was back-and-forth throughout with 12 total lead changes. Central was in control during most of the first half building a 14-8 lead after one quarter. The Bulldogs built their largest lead at eight with 2:41 left until the half.
Webb City closed the half on a 9-0 run to take a 26-25 lead on Central with an Eli Pace three-pointer at the buzzer.
The third quarter was a seesaw battle with eight lead changes and two ties in the frame.
In the fourth quarter, a Holton Keith free throw gave Webb City a 50-49 lead with 3:11 left in the game, and the Cardinals never trailed again. Central pulled within two points at 61-59 with 36 seconds left.
The Cardinals closed the game on a 7-2 run to secure the win.
Keith led all scorers with 23 points followed closely by Pace with 21. Trae Turner added in 12 points for Webb City.
In the late game, No. 2 Parkview led 19-14 after one quarter and 34-21 at the half. The Vikings gave two points back in the third quarter, but closed the game with a 24-11 advantage in the fourth quarter to secure a 72-48 win.
Eli Govan and Dassiah Green powered Parkview with 27 and 24 points, respectively.
Brody Pant led Carl Junction with 16 points while Cooper Vediz scored 15.
Parkview and Webb City will play in the Class 5 District 6 championship game at 6 pm on Monday. The Vikings won the regular season matchup with Webb City 70-37 on Feb. 17.
