Buckman scores 25 to lead Logan-Rogersville past Aurora

Logan-Rogersville avenged a 2024 sectional loss to Aurora with a 60-44 win over the Lady Houn Dawgs on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats held Aurora’s offense to just 14 first-half points on the way to taking a 24-14 halftime lead. Aurora got going in the third quarter with 19 points in the third quarter to cut Logan-Rogersville’s lead by two points, 41-33, heading into the fourth quarter.

In the final quarter, Logan-Rogersville took care of business from the free throw line going 10-for-12 to secure the 60-44 win.

Hailey Buckman was instrumental for Logan-Rogersville throughout the game, but especially in the fourth quarter. She scored a game-high 25 points with 10 coming in the final frame. Buckman was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the final quarter.

Eden Kibby hit five three-point shots for Logan-Rogersville to score 15 points in the win.

Kylee Cole led Aurora with 18 total points.

Logan-Rogersville (24-5) travels to face Owensville (21-5) in the state quarterfinal round on Saturday.

Aurora completes its season with a 23-6 record.
