Joplin girls soccer returns six starters from last season’s four-win team.
Ava Foust (senior), Lily Glover (junior) and Connley Coulter (freshman) will be forwards. Jasmine Kilafwa (senior),Lydia Barwick (junior) and Paige Blansit (junior) will be in the midfield. Roody Jakaitis (senior) and Gracie Sofia (senior) will be at defender.
Senior Kadence Lawson, an NEO commit, will be the goalkeeper.
Jakaitis and Foust will be team leaders according to head coach Desmond Williams.
“They have the experience and have shown some great leadership qualities this preseason,” Williams said.
Joplin opens the season Mar. 28-29 at the Branson Tournament.
“We have a good core group of girls who mesh really well together. I believe that will directly transfer to the field in all aspects,” Williams said. “
