Logan-Rogersville’s fourth quarter comeback comes up short in Class 4 state semifinal

Logan-Rogersville’s fourth-quarter comeback came up short in a loss 61-53 loss to Benton in the Class 4 state semifinal round on Friday in Columbia.

The Wildcats never led in the game and trailed by as many as 12 in the third quarter. The Wildcats turned up the defensive pressure in fourth quarter forcing six turnovers in a four-minute span to cut Benton’s lead all the way down to four, 52-48, with 3:06 left.

That is as close as Logan-Rogersville would get.

Lincoln Goodwin was a force for Benton in the win. He had 34 points on 10-for-18 shooting. Benton out-rebounded Logan-Rogersville 32-20 in the game.

Chase Branham led Logan-Rogersville with 18 points on 7-for-17 shooting.

Logan-Rogersville (27-4) will face Potosi (24-5) in the Class 4 third place game at 12 pm on Saturday in Columbia at Mizzou Arena.
