Logan-Rogersville sweeps Class 4 third place games

The Logan-Rogersville boys and girls swept the Class 4 third place games on Saturday in Columbia with the boys beating Potosi 54-36 and the girls beating MICDS 60-58.

BOYS GAME

The Logan-Rogersville boys got off to a slow start falling behind Potosi by seven to start the game, but from there it was all Logan-Rogersville. The Wildcats outscored Potosi 54-29 over the rest of the game building a lead as big as 23 points in the fourth quarter.

Chase Branham and Marcus Moore led Logan-Rogersville with 14 points each. Jase Pettifurd added in 10 points.

Logan-Rogersville finished the season with a 28-4 record overall.

GIRLS GAME

The Lady Wildcats used a big middle two quarters to get a lead on MICDS and then held on in the fourth quarter for a 60-58 win.

MICDS led 13-12 after one quarter. In the middle two quarters, the Lady Wildcats outscored MICDS 33-22 to carry a 45-35 lead into the final quarter.

In the fourth, MICDS cut the Logan-Rogersville lead to one, 58-57, on a three-pointer with 21 second left. The Lady Wildcats were able to hold on with some timely free throw makes in the waning seconds.

Hailey Buckman was a force in the win with 28 points and 15 rebounds for Logan-Rogersville.

The Lady Wildcats finished the season with a 26-6 record overall.
