The New York Mets selected Nixa’s Wyatt Vincent in the 11th round (343 overall) on Monday afternoon.
Vincent, a Missouri State signee, was a three-sport standout for Nixa also playing key roles on the football field and basketball court.  The Missouri State signee was a force at the plate. The speedy senior rewrote the Nixa record book for career numbers. This season, he posted a 1.194 OPS with 23 extra base hits. When he didn’t hit for extra bases, he was ready to take one via steal with 28 stolen bases.
He finished with a .403 batting average with six home runs, 34 RBI and 44 runs scored. He earned Class 6 First-Team All-State and First-Team All-COC East honors in the outfield.
