Springfield Catholic graduate and current Ball State baseball standout, Zach Cole, has been selected by the Houston Astros in the 2022 MLB Draft.
The Ball State senior outfielder was drafted in the 10th round (313th pick) of this year’s draft.
The former Irish standout was a First-Team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection in 2022. He batted .361 with 13 home runs and 47 runs batted in.
Cole also led all of NCAA Division I Baseball with 9 triples.
The approximate value of the 313th pick, according to MLB.com, is $149,500.
