Ozarks radio legend, Art Hains, will be moved to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals in Lincoln, Nebraska Thursday.
That’s according to Hains’ son Chris, who spoke with KY3 Sports Wednesday afternoon.
Chris Hains says the new location should help Art get off of a ventilator and make physical progress and he continues to recover from West Nile Virus and its various side effects.
Chris Hains says the work of doctors and hospital staff in Springfield saved his dad’s life a few weeks back.
He also says Art has several months of recovery ahead of him but knows his dad will do all he can to eventually get back on the mic.
A Go Fund Me page has been started to help the Hains family with upcoming hospital bills. Chris Hains says Art’s good friend, Rob Fulp, is spearheading the fundraising efforts.
Chris Hains says his family did not ask for the Go Fund Me page, but they appreciate the outpouring of support. He says in the event the money is not used, it may be used to open a scholarship in Art’s name, or for promoting research about the dangers of Guillain-Barre syndrome and West Nile Virus.
