SPRINGFIELD – The Drury Lady Panthers held William Jewell to just 45 points and 28 percent shooting from the field in a 75-45 win over the Cardinals on Thursday night at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
The 13th ranked Lady Panthers won their eighth straight game and improved to 16-2 and 8-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. William Jewell dropped to 7-8 and 3-4 in the league.
Drury limited the Cardinals to only 13 made shots as William Jewell went 13 for 47 from the field. The Lady Panthers also forced the Cardinals into 23 turnovers and owned a 42-31 rebound advantage.
“We have five goals written up before every game and tonight all five had to do with defense,” said Drury head coach Molly Miller. “One of those goals was to hold them under 50 points so I was really pleased with our effort as we held them to 45.”
Paige Wilson led Drury with 19 points. The senior from Bartlesville, Oklahoma hit four three-pointers while going 6 for 11 from the field. Hailey Diestelkamp picked up her seventh double-double of the year with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Panthers are home again on Saturday for Overflow the O’ day. Drury takes on Rockhurst for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
