Hurley boys basketball finished with seven wins last season. This year, the Tigers will be looking to Jordan Yoho, Caysen Youngblood and Jordan Cloud as leaders according to head coach Bryce Turbough.

Turnbough on Yoho: “is our vocal leader on the floor, he is our defensive anchor and does a lot of our ball handling.”
Turnbough on Youngblood: “He was our second leading scorer last year as a freshman and will be looked to as our go to guy.”
Turnbough on Cloud: “He did not get a lot of varsity time last year but has made great improvement and is our hardest worker.”

Youngblood poured in 10 points per game last season while shooting 39% from three. Yoho averaged 5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

Seniors Aidyn Whaley and Hunter Harrelson along with junior Shawn Whitlatch will be other returning players.

Turnbough on Whaley: “Aidyn was only a part of the team for half the season last year but when he was on the floor, he made a big impact on the defensive side of the ball. He has made great strides on the offensive side of the ball and should be a great two-way player this year.”
Turnbough on Whitlatch: “Shawn was our third-leading rebounder last year as a guard and led our team in scoring in a couple of games. He is a great player on both sides of the ball.”
Turnbough on Harrelson: “Hunter did not see a lot of varsity minutes last year but is a knock down shooter and could catch some teams by surprise.”

Whaley averaged 6.7 points and 5 rebounds per game in his time on the court.

Turnbough will look for his team to have a balanced attack.

“We can have four scorers on the floor at any time,” Turnbough said. “We will not have just one guy to focus on this year and our scoring should be pretty evenly distributed.”

Hurley has opened its season playing in the Verona Tournament.
