SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Lady Panthers climbed two spots in this week’s NCAA-II coaches’ poll and are ranked fifth in the nation this week.
Drury is 9-1 and earned wins last week over Science & Arts (Okla.), 95-60, and Quincy, 77-55.
Grand Valley State (9-0) remained number one this week, while Ashland (10-0) is ranked second. Missouri Southern St. (11-0) is ranked third, and Minnesota State Mankato (9-0) is fourth. The Midwest Region has three teams in the top five, with GVSU ranked first, Ashland second, and the Lady Panthers fifth.
The week’s poll marks the 140th consecutive week the Lady Panthers have been ranked in the top 25, the longest streak in the nation. It is also their 78th straight week to be ranked in the top 10.
Drury’s next game will be a top-10 match-up as the Lady Panthers face eighth-ranked Eckerd (8-1) at the Mocs Christmas Classic in Lakeland, Florida on Friday. Tipoff is at 11 am (CST). On Saturday, Drury will play the host of that event, an 8-2 Florida Southern team, at 1 pm (CST).
