“I had one day to get all the dunks in then when I found out we were doing four dunks it was just freestyle from there,” Brooks said.

He advanced to the finals against Christ the King’s Jaylin Lewis who wore sweatpants… “Basically, my teammate got selected and I happened to see two players from the same team, so I asked the guy if I could participate, and he said yes. No stretch, no nothing I just put the sneakers on with the jersey,” Lewis said.

Brooks versus Lewis in the final and this one goes to a dunk off.

Lewis first and he lands a perfect score with a windmill dunk. 50 points.

Brooks then lands a reverse slam, but the judges give him a 49 and Lewis wins the title.

“I already knew once you get the whole crowd going you already won it off that. I just wanted to get the whole crowd going, get a few dunks that the people would like and I already knew it was in the bag after that,” Lewis said.

For Brooks, despite second place it’s a night he’ll never forget.

“It’s a crazy experience, a once in a lifetime feeling. It’s going to be something that I think about for the rest of my life, it was crazy,” Brooks said.
