Walnut Grove girls basketball advances to program’s 14th straight district title game

Walnut Grove will play for the program’s 13th straight district title after a 47-29 district semifinal win over Niangua.

The Lady Tigers took a commanding 16-4 lead after one quarter and 32-7 lead at the half.

Ellie Smith led Walnut Grove with 23 points in the game. Jacie Gavisk also had a strong game with 15 points.

Niangua was led by Ashytn Callaway’s 15 points.

Walnut Grove will face Greenfield at 7 pm on Saturday at SBU for the Class 1 District 4 championship. The Lady Tigers beat Greenfield 48-39 on Dec. 8. This is the 14th straight district title game appearance for Walnut Grove.
