MSU’s Moore earns Valley All-Bench Team honors

ST. LOUIS — Missouri State sophomore Chance Moore (G, Brookhaven, Ga.) was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Bench Team, the league announced Tuesday (Feb. 28).

Moore is averaging 10.9 points per game on the season in 29 appearances, which ranks second on the club, while dropping in a team-best 48 three-pointers. In just 22.2 minutes per game, Moore is also averaging 3.9 rebounds per game and has led the Bears in scoring 11 times and in rebounding six times.

He has scored in double figures 16 times in his debut season with the Bears and has been Missouri State’s first substitution in 16 games. The transfer from Arkansas has started just three times during the year.

Bradley senior Ja’Shon Henry was named Sixth Man of the Year after collecting double-figure scoring performances in 14 contests. He has shot just under 50 percent and been BU’s leading scorer three times during their current 10-game win streak. He averages 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, which are fourth and third-best for the league champion.

Joining Moore and Henry on the MVC All-Bench Team were Sardaar Calhoun of Drake, Ja’Kobi Gillespite of Belmont and Northern Iowa’s Landon Wolf.

The teams, which were selected by a panel of the league’s newspaper writers and a panel of media voters.

Missouri State opens up the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference Championship Tournament on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. against No. 11 seeded UIC. Arch Madness runs through Sunday at Enterprise Center in St. Louis.
