Skyline was in control throughout a 53-36 win over Montgomery County in the Class 3 state sectional round on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 16-6 lead after one quarter and a 30-16 lead at half. Montgomery County played Skyline even in the third quarter to make it 41-27 with eight minutes remaining. Skyline closed out the game with a 12-9 fourth quarter on the way to a 53-36 win.
Ashlen Garrett was consistent throughout for Skyline with a game-high 21 points. She scored seven points in both the first and third quarters with five points in the second quarter and two in the fourth. Grace Edge scored half of her 14 points in the fourth quarter.
Skyline (22-6) will face South Shelby (25-4) at 4:30 pm on Saturday in Moberly in the Class 3 state quarterfinals.
