Republic uses balanced attack to beat Ozark in district semifinals

Republic overcame a slow start to come back and beat Ozark 52-41 in the Class 6 District 5 semifinals.

Ozark jumped out to an 11-8 lead after one quarter. Republic took the second quarter 12-7 to go into the half with a 20-18 lead. Republic extended the advantage to 31-24 after three quarters. Both teams picked it up offensively in the fourth quarter with Republic outscoring Ozark 21-17 to claim the 52-41 win.

Republic used a balanced attack in the game with six different players scoring between four and 14 points. Kaemyn Bekemeier led Republic with 14 points. Molly Blades also scored in double figures for Republic with 12.

Jordyn Foley led Ozark with 14 points. Sydney Hampton was just behind her with 12 points.

Republic advances to face Kickapoo in the Class 6 District 5 championship game at 6 pm on Tuesday in Nixa.
