Winona Lake, IN – College of the Ozarks (CofO) claimed its first-ever NCCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship as they took down No. 1 Oakland City University 86-63. However, coming out of the break in full force, the Bobcats scored 28 points in the third quarter after hitting 4-of-4 three-point attempts. The Bobcats third quarter push would prove to be too much for Oakland City to overcome. Ozarks’ scoring was led by Jordan Wersinger who tallied 24 total points, followed by Kayley Frank who had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The No. 2 seeded Bobcats won their first-round match up 81-67 after being down at halftime to No. 7 Asbury University.
