DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Evangel women’s basketball team saw its second half lead slip away Saturday afternoon falling 58-53 at Clarke University in Heart of America action.
After playing a near perfect first half the roles were reversed in the second half as Clarke shot 48 percent from the field after Evangel shot 46 percent in the first half. The Crusaders were also held to just 3-of-10 from the three-point line and finished with 20 turnovers in the loss.
Senior Allison Swanson finished with a team-high 15 points and 10 rebounds as she was joined in double figures by Taylor Longley with 14 points. Longley made two of the three treys for Evangel as the Crusaders also finished just 10-of-20 from the free throw line.
Clarke also struggled from the free throw line going 11-of-20 but recorded 13 steals. Natasha Adames led Clarke in scoring with 17 points and eight rebounds in the win.
