Dominant third quarter helps Morrisville come back to beat Billings

No. 6 seed Morrisville used a big third quarter to come from behind and beat 11th seeded Billings 54-38.

The underdog Wildcats outscored Morrisville 11-10 in the first quarter and 16-15 in the second quarter to take a 27-25 lead into the break.

In the third quarter, Morrisville cam alive on both ends of the floor outscoring Billings 20-2 in the quarter to turn a two-point deficit into a 16-point advantage at 45-29. The teams matched each other with nine points apiece in the fourth quarter to make the final score 54-38.

Jacob Presley lit it up in the third quarter scoring 10 of his game-high 20 points in the decisive frame. Landon Burrow was just behind Presley with 16 points.

Billings was led by Grant Heimer’s 16-point output.

Morrisville advances to face No. 3 seed Seymour in the quarterfinals at 4:30 pm on Saturday in Walnut Grove. Billings will face No. 14 seed Hurley at 7:30 pm on Saturday at Morrisville.
