Central & Glendale to play in Bass Pro TOC seventh place game

Central and Glendale will face off in the 2024 Bass Pro Tournament of Champions seventh place game on Saturday after both lost in the consolation semifinals on Friday. The seventh place game tips off at 2 pm on Saturday.

Central’s bid to advance to the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions fifth place game came up one basket short in a 59-58 loss to Rainier Beach.

The Bulldogs battled back from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to take a one-point lead with 19 seconds left in the game. Rainier Beach’s Dominik Robinson scored on a putback with 4.7 second left in the game to put the Vikings back in front.

Rainier Beach forced a turnover on the ensuing possession to secure the victory.

The game was close throughout with no team leading by more than seven points in the game. Central’s largest lead was four points (17-13)

Kaden Powers led all scorers and Rainier Beach with 20 points in the win. Maceo Rivers (16 points) and Robinson (15 points) also score in double figures for the Vikings.

Central was paced by Tyrique Brooks with 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Keion Epps added in 15 points.

Glendale played Class 4 No. 1 Vashon tight early, but the Wolverines used a big second quarter to pull away on the way to a 73-40 win.

The Falcons trailed 13-8 after one quarter. Vashon came out on a mission in the second quarter putting up 29 points to Glendale’s 13 to carry a 42-21 advantage into the half.

Nicholas Randle led all scorers and Vashon with 17 points. Trey Williams Jr. (16 points), Kain McCaskill (12 points) and Christian Williams (11 points) also scored in double figures for Vashon.

Amare Witham paced Glendale with 16 points. Ta’Veaion Washington had 14 points.
