Springfield Catholic’s Cole wins Texas League Player of the Week

Former Springfield Catholic baseball standout, and current Corpus Christi Hooks outfielder Zach Cole has been named Texas League Player of the Week for the Week of July 8-14.

Cole tallied 9 hits, 3 doubles, 2 home runs, and 8 RBI across five games for the Hooks.

For the season, Cole is batting .262 with 5 homers, 23 RBI, and 7 stolen bases through 38 games with Corpus Christi.

Cole is the Astros’ No. 5 ranked prospect and this is his first season at the Double-A level.

He was drafted in the 10th round of the 2022 draft out of Ball State University.
