SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel Valor football team was tabbed to finish tied for first in the Kessinger Division in the 2024 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Coaches Poll released on Friday.
Evangel earned 23 points in the poll voting, three of which being first-place votes, finishing tied with Friends in the division who also recorded 23 total points and three first-place votes. Close behind Evangel was Southwestern College with 17 points in the poll, followed by Bethel (11), McPherson (11), and Bethany (5).
In the Media Poll, Evangel earned 87 points, with eight first-place votes, finishing first in the Kessinger Division. Just behind Evangel was Friends, who earned 86 points and also eight first-place votes. Behind Friends was Southwestern with 59 points, followed by Bethel (46), McPherson (42), and Bethany (16).
Kansas Wesleyan and Ottawa were tied in the Bissell Division Coaches Poll, followed by a three-way tie between Avila, Tabor, and Saint Mary.
The 2024 season kicks off under the lights on Saturday, August 31, at 7:00 p.m. against top-rated Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas.
